Types Of Orthobiologic Treatments
There are many different types of Orthobiologic treatments, each with its advantages and disadvantages. One type of Orthobiologic treatment is called platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy. PRP therapy involves taking a sample of the patient’s blood and then separating out the platelets. Another type of Orthobiologic treatment is bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC), a minimally invasive procedure used to collect bone marrow from the hipbone. The bone marrow is then processed before being injected into the patient’s affected joint, tendon, or ligament. BMAC has been shown to be an effective treatment for a variety of orthopedic conditions, including tendinitis, ligament tears, and arthritis.
